    • This is a truly unique place; we are the only birdwatching tower in the Mindo area. The tower is set over 4 floors offering a 360 degree view on every floor. The flora and fauna can be witnessed at every level of the cloud forest and our tower ensures you get to see everything. Whether you are preparing meals and being distracted by the hummingbirds flashing past or waking up in the bedroom to the sight of a family of parrots flying over or enjoying a beer in the observation floor whilst the kinkajous visit the feeding platforms! Every floor offers something different. The Bird Tower is located in our 6 acre property that is a mix of landscaped gardens and secondary cloud forest. We have trails all around the property and outdoor seating areas. Come and connect with nature and be truly immersed in the cloud forest.


    We are nature loving people who love nothing more than seeing other people enjoying our property. Please treat the gardens and trails as your own and enjoy! We offer a WiFi area and the tower is equipped with a cell phone to allow any guests to call taxis if needed. We also offer a spotting scope and local bird books for use whilst staying at the tower.


    The Bird Tower is located on the property where we live and run our night walks. We spend most of our time here and we are very open to questions. We have extensive knowledge on the local fauna, though our specialty is amphibians and reptiles. If you have a specific interest please let us know and we can let you know what knowledge we have in this area. We also know the local area and attractions very well and can happily help you with any arrangements or give you our recommendations.


    We are located 2.2 km out of the village of Mindo. Our exact location is on the main birdwatching trail that all "twitchers" visit with the guides as the bird activity in our neighbourhood is the best in Ecuador. We are 5 minutes walking to the ziplines and 15 minutes to the waterfalls. The walk into the village of Mindo is a beautiful walk taking approx 45 minutes and a taxi ride back to the tower with your groceries is only $4.00 making everything feel very accessible. The tranquility of this neighbourhood is remarkable, with no permanent neighbours around us we wake every morning to the sound of birds and fall asleep to the sound of frogs.
