On Day 1, anyone who signs up for our November 24 adventure will already be with us, so we would like to leave Quito in the morning to get an early start. We will spend the next 2 nights in the Eastern Cloudforest to look for upper Amazonian species. This is perhaps the most herpetologically diverse region in the world, with frogs being the largest group of herps in this cloudforest.
On Day 3, we plan to leave the cloudforest around 9:00am to travel to the Amazon Rainforest, the most biodiverse area of the world. Since this is a budget style trip, our plan is to stay at more rustic rainforest accommodations, however, there is the option for mid-range lodging nearby with activities. Herping will be our primary activity, but we can also look for other wildlife including monkeys and birds. We will spend the next 3 nights in this area to be amazed by its biodiversity.
On Day 6, we plan to leave the Amazon Rainforest around 10:00am and travel back to the Eastern Cloudforest for one last night hike.
On Day 7, we will head back to Quito to drop anybody off at the airport. Anybody who wants a private extension after this can contact us to coordinate. Keep in mind that we offer a $300 per person discount to everyone who also signs up for the Chocó extension.
